Owner Falsely Claims Dogs Were Found As Strays

 On May 16th 2026 at about 145pm this office received a report from Ms. Roloff claiming she had found two dogs in the area of Route 96 in the Town of Victor NY. At this time, she transported these two dogs to the shelter and signed paperwork turning them in as found and that she was not the owner. An investigation took place and it was found that the two dogs, named Jack and Rose (photo attached) (both approximately 10 year old miniature terriers) actually belonged to her and she wasn’t going to take them to her new residence she was moving into. 

On 9/2/26 at about 900am Ms. Roloff was located and arrested. She was charged with Animal Abandonment (2-counts), Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 3rd Degree and submitting a False Written Statement (misdemeanors). Ms. Roloff was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date and released. 

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office assisted with this investigation. 

Both Jack and Rose are currently up for adoption.
